Wrapstar is expanding!

Our family that is! We are in the final stretch of pregnancy with our third child! We are so excited that soon we will be meeting our son.

Due to this pregnancy, my husband changing jobs, and my oldest daughter's new school, I have been SO busy. Meaning....I haven't been getting a lot of sewing done.

I am finishing up an order of wrap conversion for the WONDERFUL online store, Zerbert's. I am also finishing up a few Mei Tais made with wrap panels for the WONDERFUL online store BeBe Wearing Mama's. I will notify everyone once those orders go out. They will make a wonderful Christmas gift to all my fans that have been patiently waiting for a Wrapstar to call their very own.

After this order, I will be going on maternity leave. I will keep updating the Facebook fan page, as well as answering emails. In what capacity I will come back after the New Year is still uncertain. I will need to look more into the ASTM standards and decide if I will be able to keep legally making carriers at the level I am doing. I hope that I will be able to keep making carriers......but I cannot make any promises. I will let you all know what I decide as soon as I know.

Changes and new info

Luckily there has been a stay of enforcement for lead testing, so that is good.

I will hope to be going for the next year making babycarriers until other regulations become mandatory. I am working on new labels as well.

I am going to try to move into only doing wrap conversions, so if you are wanting a Mei Tai with canvas straps, start buying up what comes up in the next few months, b/c that will be the last of it.

I will be doing smaller waitlists as well. In preparation for Wrapstar to be closing its doors to US customers, I have taken on an extra job. That means, I wont have as much time to sew. SO, my new waitlist will be done in groups of 3. I will take three spots at a time. I hate that my current waitlist has taken SO long to finish because of a lot of unexpected personal conflicts (moving, holidays and a TON of snow days!).

With only taking 3 at a time, the hope is that those clients will not have to wait as long for their carriers.

I will also be doing waitlist JUST for legacy wrap quilts. So keep your eyes open for those. I will be taking those in groups of 3 as well.

To my loyal customers outside of the US, a lot of these new regulations will not affect you. And I hope to be making carriers for my foreign supporters for many years to come.

We moved. It was horrible. I never want to move again. I will die in this house, then they can seal it up like my tomb. I never want to move again.

We love our new house, and we are getting settled in. But my time getting sewing done took a nose dive. I was so busy with packing, then moving, then unpacking.....I feel like I am finally getting back into the swing of things.

I know how frustrating this must have been for those of you on my custom list, having to wait longer. I am so apologetic about that, and appreciate your understanding.

I am finally rocking and rolling again, so I should be finishing up the custom list within in the next 2-3 wks.

Notice about washing instructions

In the 2 years I've been making Wrapstar Baby Carriers, I have never had an issue with materials or workmanship. Recently, there have been 2 carriers that have had internal canvas shrink in the washing cycle. Both were from the same order of canvas. Because of this, I am cautioning owners to spotclean their Wrapstar instead of washing in a washing machine.

This is a cosmetic issue only, and does not affect thesafety of the carrier. In an effort to always improve quality, this situation is being looked into. So until further notice, the recommended cleaning method will be to spot clean as needed.

Holy Appliqué, BATMAN!!!!

Ok, this carrier deserves a post all of its own. After about 80 emails, this carrier took on a life of it's own. We went back and forth on want materials to use, the appliqué, how to lay it out...ect. All of our hard work PAID OFF. This is the most amazing carrier. Everything was drawn free hand, and it took me forever to get it how I liked it. I love how it has two "scenes", and the simplicity of the Osneburg we used for the panel is just the perfect backdrop to this creation.

OCTOBER STORE STOCKING PUSHED BACK!

Due to Halloween Parties, trick-or-treating, and ect, I am going to push back the store stocking. So it will NOT be on Sat Oct 30th.

I will do it later in the week (first week of Nov). Anyone have suggestions or preferences as to the day/time? If so, let me know!!!!

so expanding is going well...

I am slowly getting my new help trained and getting them supplies. My hope is to move away from once a month, mad-rush, store stockings....and just always have a good flow of inventory into the store.

When I add inventory to the store, I will post it on my Facebook page HERE so check there for the most current information.

We experienced some bugs with the new website. And one of the BIGGEST problems was overselling of carriers. By moving away from the mad-rush of a store stocking, we hope to help minimize that problem. Also by having inventory in the store all the time, it will help newer customers that have been having a hard time figuring out how to properly stalk and get a carrier.

I am also hoping to start having more Wrap conversions available at the store.

I am finishing up my last custom from the old list and working on the begining of the new custom list.

I really enjoyed everyone's customs! I love how different and unique all the appliques are. It is a lot of fun doing them.

I have been training some sewing help, so that has been great! They will be in charge of keeping my store stocked, so I can give my full attention to the custom waitlist.

I want to give a thank you to my friend Jen, that wrote the funny poem on the home page. And a thank you to all the mama's that submitted pictures for the photo contest! I am hoping to be able to add more pictures soon, since there are more beautiful photos that I want to use!

I am thinking about adding a "Testimonials" page to the website...so if there is something you want to say about Wrapstar, and want everyone to know it......email it to me! I will put it up on the website!

I am also going to work on more wearing videos. I have the Pod and Wrap conversion ones up...so i will be working on the Mei Tai instructions here soon. But it takes a while to have everything right...showered, looking decent, happy baby, Mei Tai handy, ect.... :)

Ok, I am going to finish my hot tea, then cut up some more wraps!
